Fall's First Steps

Fall was not at its peak yet when we took these photos last week, but there already were stretches of colorful trees here and there, and with temperatures in low 60s and a heavy storm we had last Saturday, we'd better hurry up to photograph Autumnal foliage before it's gone. Fall does not only bring bright vivid foliage though. It offers misty sky, gray water, rust of fallen leaves and  subtle shades of grass. Clear blue sky and thick fog. Nature has it all. Life has it all. Why choose?

Destructed denim skirt & sweater tights -
especially charming as they're made to look like over the knee socks.

Cormorants spend winter here in the Puget Sound.
They always dry their wings before taking off...

Photos by Justin.

Denim skirt - Lane Bryant (I recommend to size up from your typical denim size)
Blouse - Charlotte Russe
Shawl - Russian platok, a gift from parents
Field jacket - Old Navy (old)
Tights - Spanx (plus size via Lane Bryant)
Shoes - Dansko (old)

  5. Beautiful autumn atmosphere. You've captured the light so well - similar to the sense I have here in Vancouver. And I love your destructed skirt and the wings on your sleeves. This post makes me want to bite into a cool, crisp apple, with a slurp and a crunch. And drink cocoa.

  6. Glorious photos (do tell Justin I said so, they really are stunning). Both you and the natural world around you are autumnal and beautiful. Loving the sleeves on that 1970s-style top, and the yellow against the red platok is gorgeous. The leaves, the cormorants, the misty seascapes - ahh, all so lovely! xxx

  7. You look wonderful in these fall tones, especially the mustard. The Russian platok really sets everything just right.
I haven't been out among the trees enough this fall yet. Seems my concrete jungle between home and work is more constant than nature these days. There's a beautiful freeway park which connects the Convention Center to 1st Hill but I don't feel safe walking through it alone. Especially in the early morning.
After my daughter's wedding I'd love to meet up again Natalia.....maybe before the leaves all drop. Or we can do a little holiday window shopping together. It's right around the corner!
