Time flies when you're having fun, they say. I guess we've been having lots of fun lately, because I didn't even noticed when March ended and April began. We've been busy reorganizing, both our cottage living and our inner living, and while I am not ready to share my thoughts on the inner part just yet, I can tell that the latest house project is repainting Anya's room and getting a few new pieces of furniture, which we haven't done in years! So it is very exciting, and I hope to share some pictures soon.
As always, on sunny days (which we have more frequently now!) we like to get out, and there were a couple of such days when I didn't even feel like I needed a coat or jacket. Mom likes to say in the early Spring. "The bird started singing too early" ("Рано пташечка запела") - I often remember this Russian saying when I catch myself dressing lightly after a long winter. Thank goodness, our winters here are not even comparable with winters in Siberia, and sometimes I am so eager to experience Spring that I just go for it - I start singing, and it's OK if I have a sore throat later.
The dress you've seen before (HERE) - you can tell of course that this dress is still translating into the 1960s fashion in my mind. I didn't used to wear pinks, but lately I feel rather drawn to different shades of pink. And pink and purple together, what a color feast! I decided that day, with such a bold pattern go all the way bold or go home, as they say, and added an orange-y red long vest, or sleeveless coat if you will. Then I was just destined to wear purple tights and the felt flower brooch (made by my daughter when she was 9 or 10) which I felt completed and complimented the outfit. The handsome motorcycle complimented it as well, though it isn't mine!
I always enjoy the creative way gardeners have with plants. I love how an old boat and broken clay pot became a part of this improvised little tulip garden!

we have a saying: all new makes the may (alles neu macht der mai)
ReplyDelete:-)
so your may is march & april - but i think its typical all over the world to air the house and life in spring and do some renovations and reorganisations..... on the pacific coast, in siberia or in the saxonian switzerland :-)
i´d love to see your new house decor when finished!
fabulous powerful ensemble! you look totally unstoppable in the bright colors, bold pattern and the short length of that dress - i think 60s too - a time when the world was on the way to new shores......
wish you a wonderful sunny weekend!!! much love and huge hugses! xxxxx
Thank you, my dear! Yes, we all are cleaning up our nests this time of the year! :)
DeleteNatalia you look amazing. I love this retro print and colours very much. Sooo cute the broche made by Anya :)
ReplyDeleteI wish you a great weekend my friend Natalia! Big hug Tina
It has a whole new meaning and appeal when it's made by your kid, doesn't it? <3
DeleteI loved that dress the first time I saw it and I still love it now. What a fab colour and print.
ReplyDeleteThere's something in the air, all those green shoots and Spring blooms makes us reconsider our surroundings after the long dark Winter. Have fun renewing and refreshing. xxx
Thank you, Vix!!
DeleteVery pretty dress. Spring lovely spring. We have very little green yet though.
ReplyDeleteSpring is usually very slow here, and we enjoy it so much - the smells, the sunshine, the flowers, even the rain is different (it smells differently)!
DeleteI was just thinking of you yesterday. I was in Split so I spent some time with my nephew and niece. My nephew draw a knight on one of the pages of your drawing book and he said that the knight is there to protect Anya in her adventures. Isn't that so sweet? He invented a whole story to go along the illustrations. I knew that it will continue to inspire him... My niece also likes the book, but she insists that Anya is actually her, she keeps repeating mene (menya, menya, menya) while pointing her finger at her.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this colourful outfit. That dress is so wonderful...and pairing it with that long vest was such a great idea. You look fantastic dear! Always so elegant and feminine.
I'm still working on inner decor of our new home...we keep postponing the move...but we should move before summer...so I understand what you say that time flies when you're having fun! It is indeed fun changing our furniture or doing some work on the house...or moving and starting anew...but it is also very time-consuming.
Ivana, you've absolutely made my day!! Thank you so much for sharing this. Yes, it is so wonderful that the book stimulated your nephew's creativity - and your niece's imagination! I wish you took pictures of his new adventures and share them with me! I'd love to see them, for sure!
DeletePinks and purples, and some orange too! What a wonderful outfit this is! That dress just shouts 1960s to me too! These early Spring days are tempting you to go out, even if it's still a bit chilly. In the mornings, I go out to work with a cardigan and a coat, which I'm peeling off one by one as it gets warmer during the day. Springtime usually is a time for house projects too, as it brings renewed energy after the long winter. xxx
ReplyDeleteYay to Spring, to peeling off all that is nod needed anymore, and letting the new stuff fill in the space! :)
Deletelovely color combo, lovely dress, lovely 60's vibe and I'm particularly in love with your long vest, as it adds an interesting layer to a fabulous dress!. You rock a long vest! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAnd there's a saw in Spain, 'don't put your Winter clothes away, until the 40th of May' (yes, the 40th of May!)
besos
What a fun saying, love it!! Yes, you know me - I absolutely adore long vests, cardigans, dusters etc - they are among my most favorite pieces in my wardrobe!
DeleteOK, I must admit to a certain natural bias as Natasha's husband, photographer and text editor, but I wanted to say that I'm really taken these days by how compelling her outfits are. The most common word that runs through my mind as I meet each new outfit and get to know it through our photo shoots is simply "Wow!". I remember when I saw this one for the first time. My mind instantly felt both struck by how unique and striking it felt to me, how unexpected it was to me (I'm easily surprised, granted :) ), and how well it all seemed to work together as a cohesive expression. And with warmer weather coming, I can only imagine that our adventures in fashion fun will grow more and more enjoyable. Thanks for letting me be a part of it all. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, my love - for wowing, taking pictures and helping me with the tricky English grammar!!
