Autumn Sunshine

Spontaneous mini photo session in the last rays of sun. It felt very joyous and energizing to wear this monochromatic outfit today. I remember even as a kid I was naturally drawn to yellow, but Mom said very few people look good in yellow, and I would shy away from yellow for years. I do think that lemon yellow is not my best, but this rich golden mustardy yellow, a bit toxic, yet very warm, sure feels like me.

The handsome Mt Rainier is visible from many places in town.

What's your relationship with this strong color?

Skirt, shirt, sweater - Lane Bryant (different years)
Boots - Aquatalia
Purse - vintage
Jewelry - semi-precious stones, silver and brass/copper, collected over the years

Linking up with Tina's Pink Friday

  1. you are the sweetest pumpkin under the autumn sun!!!! fabulous styling!
i love yellow and i think its like with other colors too - one have to find the right shade! this can be hard sometimes if one has only the few options of the high street with that 1-3 trendcolors and black. but with vintage, thrifting, collecting over years you can end up with a colorwise very well curated wardrobe :-)
your leaves are red&gold already! ours are still green mostly - it just had started. maybe because the drought was not that hard here as in your corner.....
mt. rainier is such a beautiful mountain!!!
    hugses!!!!!! <3<3<3

    1. Thank you, my dear! :) Agree about the right shade or shades.
Here too, it's only beginning... some bushes and trees here are red even in summer! But yes, it was an extremely dry summer this year.

  2. I've read somewhere that is not about finding what colour suits us, but what shade suits us...In theory, there should be at least one shade (of any colour) that suits us. I do love strong colours ....and I love how you wear colours...another thing I love is print mixing and I know you do that too, so I would say our tastes are similar. This outfit is ,for example, is exactly my cup of tee. I love the mix of mustard and bright yellow, this sweater and skirt martch so well together. You look picture perfect!!!!

  4. Colors are like moods-different ones fit depending on the circumstance. I agree with Ivana in that the shade may be the difference in how it looks. These are great earthy colors.

  6. This shade of yellow really suits you, as do all of those warm, earthy autumn colours. And you can match this yellow to your brown and orange pieces, too, so not bad at all.

    1. Fall is my favorite fashion season - all the colors that I love and look good on me, and everything is mixable-matchable, just as you said.

  7. Hi Natalia!!

I love strong color like this! But my colors have to be muddied or muted so that I feel good in them. I love mustard, burgundy, greyish purple, olive green, etc....Basically a lot of colors you love. My hair use to be your color, just a year ago or so and I do miss it. It makes for such a perfect accessory.
    Happy Fall my friend!

  8. you look Gorgeous and absolutely Fabulous in golden yellow, and such awesome pics on a rusted shades background!, lovely!
And I was also shy about yellow, as I thought it was not a flattering color on me. But now I'm embracing all those mustard and golden yellows, and realizing they're rich and bold and powerful and make me smile, so I like them a lot!
    Besos & colors!
