Let the Sun Shine

It's raining practically every day here, it seems, for weeks. Dribble, dribble, all day long. We didn't have much time or photographical weather, for that matter, for an artistic shoot lately, but whenever there were 5 or 10 spare minutes, we snapped pictures of my daily outfits, and on that particular day last week, we even got sun!

The dress is by Eloquii, it's a true wrap dress with lovely fiery orange color and contrasting blue piping - I don't think I've ever had anything quite like it. I like the updated high low hem and pockets! Of course, I just had to play with the color of my tights, and my new Mary Janes came nicely into this combination too.

I wore it with an old necklace from Talbots as well as a fur stole that gives the look a touch of luxury (never mind it's only a faux fur, I still feel pretty fabulous wearing it).

The stole also makes my collarless coat a little more finished looking, and completes the old world feel. My purse is old, high quality and timeless design, and I adore the soft olive green leather, chunky metal hardware and thoughtful details. I included another shot of my new shoes, so you can see the beautiful textures a little better - note the wood heel!

With temps in mid 50s F, it's almost time to tuck away my coats, scarves and furs. Much like the weather, I'm working on letting my inner clouds drip their last rain and move on, allowing my inner sun shine in its full glory.
I noticed the rain smelled like Spring today. Are you ready? I know I am!

  1. I think we're sharing weather, incessant blinkin' rain! Today is gloriously sunny and we're off on a road trip. Doesn't it lift the spirits to see some sunshine?
The orange-y shade of your dress is wonderful especially teamed with the navy blue - one of my favourite colour combinations. xxx

  7. Yes, banish those inner clouds! Love this navy and orange dress, a great color combo, loved the rich, mini-houndstooth pattern of the coat, and the furry collar. I am so glad you waited for, and found, some lovely sunshine; may it stay a while!

  8. When I saw that dress on Eloquii, I sent it to Beau, saying, "I think I need this dress." You and I think alike so often! I love the necklace too. For fun, do a Google image search of "Cartier tutti frutti." You'll understand right away.

I love the whole look. It works wonderfully as always.
