Another of my 2-in-1, or more like 3-in-1 posts. :)
I enjoy dressing up, but equally I appreciate lazy "comftubl" days when I don't have to get out of cozy home clothes. Considering that being in such a homey mood doesn't always prevent us from going out, it's a great idea to have a few outfits which feel comfy yet still look elegant.
I recently had a couple of busy-lazy days like this when I
A) visited a waterfall with a friend from out of state (short walk on pavement to see our wild beauty)
B) strolled on a boardwalk
C) went out to lunch with a friend
D) was getting my daughter to and from her classes
E) went out to lunch with my sweetheart.
And so I paired my new heather grey Old Navy maxi dress (it was on sale for only $15) with a few different jackets as you may see in these photos.
Justin was in a hurry today, but I so wanted to post photos of these super easy outfits! So he took a few quick shots. I like dressing up a field jacket with some pearls (or faux pearls like this bracelet earlier featured here) and polka dots. Then right in the middle of our little improvised photo shoot I spotted a bunch of bold eagles right above our heads! There were three of them, two mature ones (with the white head on the photo) and one youngster - a family of eagles... just like our little family. :) Eagles are always a wonderful sign for us. What about you, guys? Do you believe in signs?
A bit dressier, yet still casual look with a soft jersey polka dot blazer (also featured here) - it was perfect for lunch with Justin. :) I just added a necklace and a bracelet.
The dress is very similar to this one, but from the later collection, and seems quite improved. As a fellow dressmaker in the past, I do appreciate such new details as a drawstring in the waist and a slit of the skirt. It also seems to me that Old Navy used a better quality fabric here. The leggings (from this post) are not just for warmth here, but also further comfort and informality. And I do wear these pair of moccasins quite a lot (featured here and here), even though I bought them 7 or 8 years ago.
And finally, this jacket by Isabella Bird in similar shade of red as my moccasins, easy going, warm and soft for cool days - casual, but still elegant I think. :)
Maxi dress by Old Navy (available in a few colors, petite and tall sized here). Field jacket by ASOS. Polka dot blazer and infinity scarf by Lane Bryant. Red jacket by Isabella Bird (old). Leggings by Hue. Moccasins by Pikolinos (old). Bracelet by Chico's (old). Pearl earrings - gift.
And thus begins our cold weather blogging, as temperatures dip down below freezing tonight. What cozy surprises does Natasha have in store for us ... :)
ReplyDeleteIt's great that the weather here is mild, but still changeable enough to have fun with different season clothes! :)
