They say, we got more rain this winter than in a few previous years, but it does not mean that we don't have perfectly wonderful sunny days and blue sky - sometimes, we do! Like today, or that day a couple of weeks back when I wore my new stripy dress. It is so easy to wear, comfortable, that I wore it out quite a few times, and even was lounging at home in it. The silhouette is very simple - almost a basic sailor shirt, which is flattering on a woman's body even the way it is, but combined with a variety of stripes, creates an especially successful design.
Like many of us do, I always try to find ways to style a new item with old beloved things from my wardrobe, and here I show it in two different outfits. They might not be the most creative combinations I'm capable of, but I just want to share whatever I wear on a daily basis. The trench is a vibrant Kelly green well structured design with plenty of great details, by Michael Kors, which I bought two years ago. I'm eagerly waiting for temperatures to go a bit higher, so I can wear it with blouses and shirts, it's a little tight for sweaters, and I am just tired of sweaters. I picked accessories in green tones, since my freshly colored head adds another bright color anyway.
That day, we went to one of Tacoma's private schools for a choir competition where our school's girls choir participated and got quite a high score. The grounds of this Catholic school are gorgeous, with landscaping, art and a combination of old and new buildings.

Photo below: The Real Adventure Man (read why Justin got this nick name here) in his new hat and shirt by Cabela's - love the Soutwestern vibe!
And for a walk in one of my most favorite places (read about the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge in my post here), I needed a little more casual outfit and comfy shoes. But I still like some color and fun detailing, and my thrifted vintage denim coat with embroidery fit the bill perfectly. I just added a scarf (I made a mistake once on a sunny walk in February by not wearing a scarf and got an achy neck for a few days after all), a crossbody bag for all necessary things like a phone, lipstick, car keys - and I was ready to go. I can't wait until I can afford to go bare legs without risking my health so I can style this dress with a short denim jacket and converses - hopefully soon. :)
I will leave you with a few nature shots from the estuary - enjoy! It is not only a place to restore nature, but also to restore a soul. It works every time for me. I highly recommend, if you're in the area.
For Write and Link participants, we're taking a break for a while. I will keep you posted!

Your area is so beautiful. Undisturbed terrain in its finest form. I picked up a dress very similar to yours by Lou & Grey. I put it back. Now, after seeing you in yours, I'm having second thoughts. Love it with the Kelly green coat.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Glenda! Our nature is amazing, it is true. I think I could go to different parks and refuges every day and never get tired of them. I'd love to see you in a stripy dress! Is it a gray one? You would look so beautiful in it. I think it is flattering and so versatile.
DeleteDear Natalia, I love stripes. This dress looks amazing and confortable. Love the combination with the green Trenchcoat ♥️

DeleteI love your striped dress, such an amazing design and cool shape!, and love both outfits you've created wearing it!. You look comfy & cool, gorgeous!, and those are fabulous qualities!. I love both outfits, your Green trench looks so fresh and spring-like, and love so much your embroidered denim coat!, that cute little scarf is a perfect touch indeed!

Sometimes, I want to cut off the sleeves of this denim coat to make it a long vest (which I adore). But I have doubts.
Deletehow gorgeous is that bird? Such an amazing place! You live in a beautiful area and it is great that you are taking advantage of it. My husband and I also enjoy strolling in nature. It can be so relaxing! Plus, nature really inspires me...and often I have a feeling it also restores me.
ReplyDeleteThis striped dress is so lovely. You have styled it perfectly in both outfits. I think the first one is my personal favourite, just because of that green trench. I'm a big fan of colour green and that shade is so pretty.
Beautiful photos and photos. As always, I really enjoyed it!
That bird is a great blue heron! We have many of them around, they are so fun to watch, but really shy - it was a very rare, unique chance to get so close to one in wild nature.
Deleteit must have been a lovely experience! I have somewhat of a talent for spotting birds, so I often enjoy a sight of some beautiful and rare birds. Seldom from very close, because most birds are very shy. I think this is the case anywhere. Only city birds, like peguins and spparows (or pets like parrots), seem to be an exception from that rule.
DeleteHI Natalia..I love your striped dress with that green coat..so striking! I am also a Pacific Northwesterner..so hello neighbor! I also have Russian roots, both of my grandparents on my dad's side were born in Odessa in early 1900, which is now Ukraine. Beautiful photos!!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Nicole! Glad you like it!
DeleteHello, dearest Natalia!! I haven't visited in what feels like ages...but when I saw you in this super-flattering striped dress via Nicole's "Top of the World" linkup, I had to take a few moments to tell you how chic you look!! Your kelly green coat makes me realize that I desperately need to add a few more outerwear pieces with "pop" to my own wardrobe...and while I never tire of wearing sweaters myself - I'm a confirmed "sweater girl!" - I AM sick and tired of winter!! XOXO
