Modish Matrons #36: Garden Party at Beate's

Oh how time flies. I've just barely come back from my TRIP TO PARIS, and I am now leaving again! This time, I meet my beautiful friends TINA und BEATE at the garden party of the year which Beate hosts in her cozy and luscious garden.

Such a unique woman as my dear blogging friend Beate can only live in a one-of-a-kind place, such as a century old railroad keeper's house, or Bahnwaerterhaeuschen in her native tongue (which is the name of her blog in German), in Saxon Switzerland, a picturesque area of Germany. If you don't read German, but would like to get to know Beate better, do check out the interview she kindly gave for my blog back in 2015 HERE. I'm honored to call her one of my dearest friends, and I'm sure you will find her answers utterly inspiring, and her world full of magic... as do I.

Therefore, even the journey to this magical world cannot be trivial. And even though we live half the world apart, my route to the railroad keeper's haeuschen ("little house" in German), once I stepped on it, took me not to a sleek modern airport, but rather down the winding woodsy path full of surprising discoveries on my way...

The road to Beate burst with whimsical flowering bushes of all colors,
while ancient trees comforted with shade...

...and shrubs and grasses entertained with whimsically shaped leafage...

Then suddenly the scenery changed, and I found myself at a clearing in the forest, surrounded by giant lilies getting ready to bloom and huge unearthly blue poppies...

That could only mean one of two things: either I, not unlike Alice in Wonderland, was getting to the center of the earth, or I was finally reaching my destination, and would see my dear friends soon.

And then, with all sorts of delicate looking but strong mountain flowers all around me, I knew Beate's garden was near, and I wasn't wrong! My darling beauties, together again!

In pretty dresses, sipping all sorts of delicious drinks and having a bite in a company of flowers, bees and trees! Kvas and Russian salad anyone?

you look wonderful and fresh in your pretty dress - which reminds me of dresses i had in late childhood (late 70s) when "fake patchwork" and coral-y red was all the rage :-D
