Write and Link #6: Do You Believe in Magic?

It's been a while. I wish I could tell you fun stories of great adventures which kept me from blogging, but the simple truth is I was sick and stuck at home for two weeks. The first thing I did once my energy level got better? You got it! I dressed up and bought tickets to theater. Oh, you know me so well!

I wore this Isabel Toledo pencil skirt which has a rich pattern (floral meets geo) and sophisticated coloring. It seemed to me that wearing it with a black sweater which would frame the skirt's beauty was the right thing to do. (Unfortunately, it was getting dark and too tricky to take pictures, and I'm afraid you can't see all the wonderful details of the outfit - sorry about that.) I added a new Lane Bryant statement necklace, put on silky black tights and heels - and was ready to have a night out with my love (completed with Indian food and a glass of crisp California chardonnay).

Skirt - Isabel Toledo for Lane Bryant
Sweater and necklace - Lane Bryant
Boots - Ecco
Clutch - Cole Haan

Linking up with

And finally, Write and Link is back! The phrase to use for inspiration this month was
"Do you believe in magic?"

I originally created this link-up for short story writers (1000 words or so), but having experimented with a daily prompts link-up for a few months, I came to the conclusion that the freer the rules are, the more creativity flows. So, starting this month, I encourage you to try your pen in all sorts of different forms and genres. If you are inspired to write a short story, do that. But if you'd rather write a poem, personal essay, play, or whatever - do not limit yourself. The most important thing is that you write!

The link up will be open for the whole last week of January, and everyone who is interested in creative writing is welcome to join.

UPDATE:
The next link up will be open on February 1st, and I would love to leave it absolutely free of topics, inspirational phrases etc. - write what you want to write and link during the whole month of February!

    1. It was such a lovely evening! Glad you like it with black - I bought a couple of black sweaters just for this purpose, to "frame" the colorful skirts (or pants). No worries about writing. Writers need readers as much as readers need writers! and I am always so happy to read your comments. :)

  4. Glad you're back but sorry to hear you've been unwell. I hope you're fighting fit now.
Love the subtle colours of the skirt, the way they swirl and merge with each other. And then there's the two cheeky splits at the front - quite unexpected! And you chose a gorgeous necklace to wear with it - perfect. Hope you enjoyed the theatre.

    1. You warmed my heart! Thank you. I wrote a story, now I am waiting to read it with my editor :) first, Justin - he helps me to catch the grammar mistakes which don't help readers. Good luck with your writing - just relax and let your inner self to write, not your mind.
