I asked Papochka to be my photographer again today - thank you, Papa!
I often want to wear something comfortable and unpretentious (also known as casual), and at the same time interesting and just a little bit whimsical or fancy.
So I paired my "wearable art" top with skinny jeans and added colorful and a little artful accessories to this combo to take it up another notch. Since it's still February, and even though 60 F, I also wore my ruana which is my most favorite alternative to jackets. This particular ruana always reminds me of Japanese kimonos.
You probably remember this statement necklace which I wore a lot last year and showed it here on the blog more than once. The earrings are silver enamel and contain all the same colors as those presented in both the top and necklace. It was a re-gifted gift from my friend many years ago. They are lovely, though I don't wear them a lot as I prefer chunky jewelry, but I thought they worked well with the statement necklace. (My challenge is that I pretty much love everything statement!)
Showing off the long sleeves of this unique top... no need for bracelets or even rings, they are certainly also a statement.
I wore this top with black slacks for a more dramatic feel too - very different geometry or architecture (also known as proportions) in that case.
The last photo is from one of my very first posts back in 2013, it's still one of my most favorite photo sessions (more details here).
What do you think about the proportions in today's outfit?
Do you prefer this top with black bottom?
How would you wear it... if you would, of course? :)
I'd love to hear your ideas!
