Walk, Walk and Walk

I can't get enough of this beautiful summery weather. It seems all we do these days is walk, walk and walk. Justin's smart device tells us we walked 24 km (15 miles) this week - a lot for someone who usually spends hour after hour, day after day writing, editing and staring at the computer screen. I feel that life juices came back to my tired-after-the-long-winter body, and that fresh blood runs through my veins again. I feel that this Summer will be different for me, in my wardrobe options for one - nobody on the planet is happier than I am that stores are now filled with clothes made of linen and cotton everywhere,  and you will most probably see a lot of these pieces in different combinations again and again.

Beautiful detail on the back of the shirt - makes this piece so quaintly and sweetly old-fashioned.

Sending you all lots of love and warm sunshine from my corner of the world.

  6. I have one like this. It's lovely to open the buttons down the back and let the breeze blow in discretely in the heat.
I too have been walking and getting fit, and as you know, most of my wardrobe is natural fibre.
    Enjoy the warmth!

  7. Sorry this is a little late , I have been settling in and coming to terms with a computer that I am not really familiar with.I agree with you on the cottons and linens ,so much more comfortable to wear, particularly if your Summer is as hot as the Australian Summer was. You look so ready to take on whatever Summer brings, keep enjoying that walking. xxx

    1. Please, no apologies, my dear. Enjoy your trip - and no worries at all.
I heard a lot about your Australian summers! It was not that hot here, just about 70 F (21 C), but it felt like summer!

    1. Me too, Elle, I also like how linen wrinkles - beautiful texture. I notice that some brands offer pre-wrinkled linen clothing (Vivid Linen, for instance).

Buffalo check - that's the name! Thank you! I call everything "plaid" :)))

  9. Yes, I'm looking forward to linens and cottons! Although it might be awhile before I get to wear my white linen trousers! Love the simplicity of this outfit - the promise of summer to come.

  11. I love that shirt...and the buttons on the back are very cute. Nice pants and sandals as well...I tend to opt for leather shoes most of the time, even when it comes to sandals. They're just so much more comfortable to wear and I've read that the leather is a by product from meat industry so if we don't wear leather we're doing deservice to ecology because then all that leather will become toxic waste. Maybe I'm just searching for an excuse, but a lot of people told me this. Perfect Spring combo, altogether!

I love walks, they really restore. I spend a lot of time in front of computer, so a nice walk is essential for me and it helps me recharge my batteries.

  12. Fabulous outfit! You're sporting one of my all-time favourite colour palettes (red, white and black) and patterned (checks) here. This look is so classic, elegant and charming.

    1. Thank you, dear Jessica, I am very touched! :) The color of the checkered top is white and blue (which does look black from a distance). I also bought a matching piece for really hot summer days... let's see whether I'm brave enough to show it here on the blog. :)
