Playing with Neutrals

So, the Summer is coming to an end as we speak (though to me, it ended on August 31st - you see, Fall starts on September 1st in my Russian mind every year, no exception). But our playing with fashion continues, and why not play with neutral tones for a change. I love bold colors, but from time to time I feel inclined to wear neutrals - it's refreshing, as if I push an invisible restart button of my style.

The linen tunic is vintage (my guess, late 1980s to early 1990s), bought at Goodwill. I showed it in SEPTEMBER 2015. To me, it goes very well with the subtle colors of the natural surroundings in late Summer and early Fall. I belted it with a burgundy leather belt that I purchased last year, but haven't worn until now.

You could've seen these gorgeous and extra light earrings with a red dress in my AUGUST 2018 post. I don't think I have shared this crochet cotton skirt before, but I showed its sister top with linen pants in JUNE 2017. The vintage pin was a $1 find at an antique mall a while back.

I didn't have any particular reason to dress up that evening - I did it simply to please myself when Justin and I went for a walk on a local trail. I loved the 1980s vibe of my getup and the way it resonated with current colors in nature: dry grasses, red leaves and blackberries. I would take this outfit anywhere really, but there is something very soothing in harmonizing with nature.

  10. What a beautiful and feminine look! I do like how you style these neutral tones together. The black lace is always so elegant. You created a very pretty combo for a walk. I'm a firm believer that we don't need special occasions to dress up. We should dress up for ourselves and for the sheer joy of dressing up.

For me Autumn started two days ago when we had a windy storm and the temperatures dropped.
